ABOUT US

We are 5th and 6th grade Primary Education students of “La Espiga” Rural Association School that is situated in the El Torviscal village. We are participating in the Junior Emprende Program of the "Junta de Extremadura". The 6th graders have already participated the last school year and this year we are going to continue with the "Junior Salud - Torvis" cooperative.

HOW DID WE BEGIN WITH THE PROJECT AND HOW WE ORGANIZE IT?

In October, our tutor Inma explained to us what the classmates of the previous course had done in the Junior Emprende Program, we saw some videos and she told us to reflect at home on the positive and negative things of continuing with the same cooperative or creating a new one. The next day, in a Language class, we individually presented what we had thought and most of the students thought it was better to continue with the "Junior Health Torvis" Cooperative; we chose it democratically as always. The main reason to continue was that many of the objectives that had been marked the previous course were still to achieve and we thought it was important to continue working with them because we would do positive things for our people.

Later we saw what a cooperative is, how it works ... and then what we wanted to do, so we needed to organize ourselves. We thought about all the possible positions that a cooperative has and we had to prepare the defense of two of those positions so that the comrades would vote for us, being objective and not friendship. The results were:

The president (Mireya), The secretary (Raúl), The treasurer (Sergio), The bloggers (Isko and Iker), The field notebook (José Carlos and David), The creative (Carlos), The decorator (Érika), The photographer (Esther), Cartel (Celia), Event organizer (Ainhoa), Public relations (Rubén), Quality control (Cristian) and Communication and Press (Hugo).
